Why should I report my
steps? |
| A. |
Reporting your steps is an
important part of the SilverSneakers® Steps program that:
- keeps you motivated,
- helps you track your progress and
- makes you eligible for our themed reporting contests to earn or win prizes.
Reporting your steps also lets you see how you are doing compared to your
family, friends and neighbors. You can’t view your Activity Report unless you
report your steps. |

| Q. |
What activities count as
steps? |
| A. |
Although walking is a great
way (and the most obvious way) to increase your steps, SilverSneakers® Steps is
about more than just walking. SilverSneakers® Steps allows you to convert your
favorite activities into steps. All physical activities such as bicycling,
gardening, fishing, swimming, and yes, even housework can be converted into
steps.
|
| |
| Q. |
I just finished
gardening. How do I convert this activity into steps? |
| A. |
You can convert your
activity into steps by using our steps conversion
calculator. Simply choose your activity and enter the number of minutes
you participated in it, and the calculator will show you an equivalent number
of steps. If you're interested in the amount of calories burned, enter your
weight. Or you can print a copy of the steps
conversion chart for easy reference. |
